This portfolio website is for an award winning television production. User needs included a portfolio feature and streamlining the maintenance of the site in-house.
The portfolio was a key functional requirement. There was a strong preference for minimal use of text, effectively eliminating a long-scrolling site option. Updating the site regularly was also a key consideration. Mobile responsiveness was a critical success factor.
After a series of sketches and wireframes, I decided on Squarespace or Wordpress as the best potions for a self-managed site, creating mock-ups in each environment to demonstrate the merits and ease of use of both.
The final site was built with Wordpress, customising the Avada theme, which provided excellent video support, scalability, a robust content management system (CMS) and the best options for future expansion. And, of course, it is responsive.
The key user need for this project was a portfolio site that was easily updateable. Key functional requirements were a robust CMS that supported video, and a mobile responsive site, reflecting the company's contemporary, creative brand image.
